The Home Page and Vaults
After logging in, the first page displayed is known as your “Home Page”. If you have access to more than one vault, multiple boxes will be displayed:
Clicking on the logo of the chosen vault will take you to the Files and Folders page. If you have been given access to a single vault, this will be your “Home Page”:
This page displays the folders that you have been given permission to see on the left, and the files contained in each folder in the right-hand panel. Safe4 has been designed to resemble Windows Explorer, and provides a familiar look-and-feel to users who have basic experience of using a computer.
If the folder contains any files, the number of files will be shown in a box to the right of the folder name. When a folder containing files has been selected, the list of files will be displayed, as shown above.
Home Page Menu Options
The dark-coloured band at the top of most of the Safe4 screens offers a number of menu options:
Each of the menu options offered allows specific Safe4 facilities to be used.
Home: Selecting this option will take you back to the Home screen described above.
View: This option will display a drop-down menu in the case of provider users:
For client vault users, only the Files & Folders and File Index options will be displayed.
Subject to the Permissions associated with your account, you will have the option to view the Files and Folders page, the Manage Client Users page, or the Edit Details page. The functions associated with the Management of Client Users and Editing Client Details are covered in the Safe4 Administration Guide.
Messages: This option will show the upload notifications received by you. Notifications for file or data uploads and email messages generated within Safe4 will all be listed on this page:
Help: This option will direct you to a page on the Safe4 website that shows a series of guides. The guides describe the functions that can be performed within the Safe4 system.
Vault Indicators
If you have access to more than one vault, graphic boxes with the provider’s branding will be displayed as shown below. If any of the available vaults have been time-limited by the provider, the number of days remaining for access to that vault will be shown. If a vault has been protected with 2-Factor Authentication by the provider, a padlock icon will be shown next to the client vault name:
Clicking on the logo of the vault that you wish to enter will display the Files and Folders page for that vault. If you choose to enter a vault that is protected with 2-Factor Authentication, you will need to register your mobile phone number so that you can receive text codes as described here.
