ExpanDrive
Using ExpanDrive provides many of the benefits of using the Windows connection to Safe4 through WebDAV. It is a proprietary product and will require the payment of a small licence fee. It is fully integrated with Windows Explorer, but does not require the mapping of a network drive.
To download ExpanDrive, go to https://www.expandrive.com/. The product can be tried free of charge, but will require a payment if it is installed and used permanently.
After downloading, click the icon to set up a WebDAV connection. As for the other methods of connecting through WebDAV, the essential connection requirements are:
- URL: https://safe-4.com/dfa
- Your Safe4 username and password
- The choice of a drive letter to allow access through Windows Explorer
When the connection has been made, the Windows Explorer will show the drive as follows:
The Safe4 provider accounts are shown as top-level folders. Navigating through the folders to the Legal sub-folder will display the following:
From this point on the ExpanDrive connection will function in the same way as a Windows mapped drive, and the interaction with Microsoft Office applications will be as for any other Windows local or network drive.
