Comprehensive user interface upgrade for Safe4

As part of the company’s programme of continuous improvement, a comprehensive user interface upgrade for Safe4 has been released. This upgrade enhances the usability, security and robustness of the system.

One of the key objectives of the upgrade was to provide an interface for mobile phone users that made accessing secure information vaults easier when on the move, or when access to a computer is not available. This also allows the user to access Safe4 on a phone by using a single click:

Users of Safe4 vaults will benefit most from this change, in particular those who are using the system to store confidential personal information. One of the most valuable examples of this is in the area of holding clients’ inheritance plans for law firms and professional will-writers. Safe4 provides exceptional levels of security, and allows a professional service provider to allocate a vault to each client when a will is prepared, so that this can be developed over time to hold a comprehensive range of personal information. Not only inheritance documents – wills, trusts, powers of attorney, letters of wishes – but also financial records, insurance documents, and others that will be essential when probate services are being provided.

Holding structured data

As well as document files, Safe4 also allows information to be held in fields, shown in columns and rows, similar to a spreadsheet. Executors will find this information invaluable when carrying out probate. Passwords to online accounts can be held confidentially. Such accounts can include not only financial services such as banks and credit cards, but also social media accounts, and the passcodes for mobile phones and computers. Access to these devices will be essential, as they may contain information not easily available otherwise – PayPal accounts may hold money, as may gambling accounts that the testator has not shared with others.

Computer users will also see a change in the display of information held in Safe4 vaults

Not everyone will be using a mobile phone to manage their personal information. Many will prefer to use a Windows or Apple computer or tablet to do this.  The files and folders page in Safe4 has been modified to present information in a simpler way:

All Safe4 data is hosted in the UK, in data centres accredited to ISO 27001. It complies with the Solicitors Regulation Authority guidance for cloud-based systems, and provides granular permissions and a comprehensive audit trail and reporting capability.
